Expanish

When I started the course, I didn’t speak spanish at all and after two weeks I was at least able to do a little bit of small talk in present tense. For me the pace of the progression was a bit to slow. On the other hand, the experience was really great, because I enjoyed the social aspect of the school, the activities and the teachers, who where very nice and willing to consider each students needs.

I was amazed by the way everyone at Expanish was making you feel welcomed and at home. I spent 6 weeks improving my Spanish through an intensive course. Always helpful, friendly and making sure I had everything I needed would be a summary of how the staff (reception, classroom) took care of me.

The courses were structured during the mornings and afternoons and had breaks of several lengths. I had 6 hours of courses each day. I liked how the teachers navigated through the material, but at the same time left room and flexibility to deep dive into a topic when needed or allow the conversational flow of the class. Remember that the students came from all around the world and sharing their experience was an invaluable part that I dont want to miss.

The afternoon course was for conversation in my curriculum, meaning teachers would throw a topic at us and we`d would just babble along - 100% grammar correctness was not the most important thing here, and I love the way how the teachers would enable us to break the ice, and let us shrug off the shyness. I want to point out Eugenia as my favorite teacher who taught me more than just Spanish by the books, but conversational styles and the unwritten laws of Spanish communication that no book will teach you. She had the amazing ability to rally all the class behind the goal to reach new levels of speaking. THANK YOU!

After class the Expanish offers an excursion per day that will let you enjoy your stay beyond the sheer educational/school set up. From discovering different parts of Barcelona, to going for ice cream, the program was filled will fun things to do and to connect with other students.

I would definitely do another course at Expanish!

Our teacher was always on time, she was really patient. We had private lessons and we got really good feedback everyday from her. The school is clean and nice. Several classrooms with tv’s and air conditioning.

The course was diversified, the class size pleasant and the teachers friendly and eager. On top of the daily classes there were optional evening activities like trips to viewpoints, etc. The language school was easy to reach and the facilities were well equipped.

Although it makes sense to encourage students to speak as much Spanish as possible, it would have been easier in some situations if there had been more willingness on the part of the staff as well as the teachers to give answers in English sometimes.

I went to Expanish earlier this year and last year for the first time. My favourite teacher in Angel. Thanks to the school I went from total beginner to advanced speaker in only two stays. A lot of practice with the locals, and now I am fluent in Spanish. The accommodation was great as well. Communication with the school is flawless and they are very responsive to any demand you may have. Thank you Expanish for this wonderful experience.

I have been in Expanish for two weeks and had 20 hours of class, each week. Expanish is great. The classrooms and the open space are very modern and trendy. I found out that Expanish started in October 2017, which is less than a year ago. But if you take a look at the quality of the lessons and the teachers, you would've said they've been doing this for years! This was an amazing experience.

My housing was also good. My host was a really kind woman and she made sure I had a pleasant stay. The room itself wasn't big but it was good enough for two weeks.

I am eleven and enjoyed my private Spanish lessons for one week in July 2018. The class was catered to my level and I think my Spanish improved a lot. I am excited to continue learning Spanish! I lived with a host family who lived 20 minutes from Expanish so it was an easy walking distance. We walked to class every morning. Expanish is located right in the Center so it was fun to practice Spanish with locals after my class every day. Also, I learned a lot of Spanish living with a host family. They only spoke Spanish with me and no English, which is exactly what I wanted. I also loved Barcelona which is an amazing city and I enjoyed exploring the city in the afternoon. I hope to take intensive Spanish lessons again next year!

Also Expanish is in a very clean and tidy building. The program offers lots of cultural activities and outings to art studios, for example. The staff were all very sweet and helpful. For example, Clara helped my mom buy museum and train tickets so that we could explore and make the most of our time. Iliana helped us communicate with the program staff which was very helpful and made my visit smooth.

I loved my Expanish experience.
