What you learn in a 4-week A1 Spanish intensive course

In the intensive Spanish course for A1, you have your first experiences with the Spanish language and build skills at levels A1.1 and A1.2. At this level, you learn receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing) skills in Spanish, the national language of Spain and most South American countries. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to navigate everyday situations, such as traveling and shopping in the Spanish-speaking world, and communicate with Spanish speakers.

Get to know the language in the traditional cultural context of Spanish-speaking countries, compare these cultures, and develop an authentic understanding of them. This Spanish course is also a helpful way to prepare for A1-level Spanish exams, such as telc and Cervantes, or lessons at school. The course is complete with practical exercises in the LcL Language Lab in which you can participate. An instructor in the LcL Language Lab helps you improve your Spanish pronunciation, accent, and intonation. Online participation is also available by request*.

Overview of Spanish A1.1 + A1.2 language content

Practice elementary language acts, such as greetings or buying a ticket

Use elementary vocabulary and grammar, and form sentences with simple conjunctions

Understand slowly spoken Spanish, ask and answer questions

Write elementary texts, e.g., booking a trip, and utilize simple grammar

Immerse yourself in language culture and practice Phonetics in the LcL Language Lab
